The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
