From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, demons, and dark forces expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of characters who will split off from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the group reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to head to the remote area in search of the antagonist.
